Our parent company, Prime Leather Finishes (PLF) was incorporated in 1931 and has gone on to become one of America’s largest producers of innovative products for tanners, shoe manufacturers and leather goods manufacturers. Prime Coatings was purchased and began manufacturing in 1969. Both companies have achieved reputations for innovation, quality, and expertise in the design manufacture of chemical coatings. PLF recently entered into a strategic alliance with 3M Corporation to manufacture OEM and Aftercare Protective Performance Products for leather.

We have facilities in Milwaukee, WI, Pewaukee, WI and Dover, NH. We also have agents in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico and India to effectively facilitate doing business overseas.

We are corporate members of Chemical Coaters International. We have received Vendor of the Year awards 3 different times in the last 15 years from Chemical Coaters International.

Long time customers include John Deere, GE Medical Systems, StaRite (Pentair), Parker Hannifin, Trek Bicycle, Calibre Inc., St. Croix of Park Falls, MoldRite Inc., and many others.
